Aching for my songbird

Five senses, one overwhelming, sound encompasses all.

Life before was cars honking, sirens wailing, woosh , aching for silence.

Then she came, came like a songbird, oh so quietly and then…music.

She sang to me of anger and love and foolishness and my ears cried out.

Cried out, unfurled like a flower blooming as the first rays of the sun shine out.

She sang to me always, morning and night, filling my days with sweet sound.

And then, like the songbird, it was time to go, the seasons change, and life goes on.

Now there is just sirens in my head and my heart, aching for her sweet sound.
